  1. Does Whoscall provide information regarding private numbers?

    Whether the number is blocked or not, a private number is impossible to trace or reveal through any app or device since it is private. The only exception is when requested by law enforcement institutes or any other unit with the authority.

  2. What should I do if I failed to receive the verification code (SMS) while verifying my phone number?

    If you could not receive the verification code, please tap “Voice Call Verification”. Voice Call Verification is available all over the world. To use Voice Call Verification, please take the following steps: 1. Tap “Voice Call Verification”. 2. Hear the busy tone. 3. Hang up.

  3. Can I restore my account and information when re-installing Whoscall?

    Whoscall identifies users by their registered account(Google account) only. Whether you lose your phone, change your device, wish to activate the app on multiple devices, or re-install the app, you can retrieve information (blocklist, tag memo and favorite number) as long as you login with the same account.

  4. What should I do if I failed to block phone calls?

    Block failure happens for multiple reasons. In order to specify the problem, please check the following questions and notify us through the in-app customer service form. Our staff will be happy to assist you to solve the problem.

    1. Though failed, did you still receive the block notification on the upper-left corner?
    2. Though failed, did the number still appear in the blocked history (check the leftmost tab)?
    3. Though failed, did the number still appear in the My Blocklist?
  5. What should I do if I failed to block text messages?

    Block failure happens for multiple reasons. In order to specify the problem, please check the following questions and notify us through the in-app customer service form. Our staff will be happy to assist you to solve the problem.

    1. Though failed, did you still receive the block notification on the upper-left corner?
    2. Though failed, did the number still appear in the blocked history (check the leftmost tab)?
    3. Though failed, did the number still appear in the My Blocklist
    4. Is your OS system android 4.4 and above? Starting from Android 4.4, Google has revoked SMS/MMS permissions from developers. Due to that fact, Whoscall will not be able to block SMS/MMS for Android versions 4.4 and above. Call blocking feature is not affected.

About General Function


  1. How do I delete a tag or memo?

    A. To delete a tag, please take the following steps:

    1. Tap the number to which the tag you want to delete belongs to.
    2. Tap “Tag”.
    3. Tap “Delete” on the report screen.

    B. To delete a memo, please take the following steps:

    1. Tap the number to which the memo you want to delete belongs.
    2. Tap “Memo”.
    3. Tap “Delete” on the report screen.
  2. How to change the name of my number displayed on Whoscall??

    Install the latest version of Android Whoscall▶ http://bit.ly/officialw and create Whoscall Card, which requires number verification. Please do input accurate informaiton of your number

  3. How do I add a category to favorite numbers?

    1. Tap “favorite numbers” (the rightmost tab).
    2. Tap the folder on top to add a new category.
  4. What is Lightning identification? (What are Frequently Blocked Calls, Sales Calls, or Unwelcome Calls..)

    Lightning identification provide the database that included popular numbers and spam numbers. When you download to activate it, the numbers in database call in, the caller ID will show up immediately.

    Database includes

    1. Popular Numbers: Popular dialer or receivers
    2. Spam Numbers:
      • Frequently Blocked Calls: Numbers frequently blocked by users
      • Sales Calls: Numbers frequently reported as sales or ads
      • Unwelcome Calls: Numbers frequently reported as frauds or scams
      • Call Center: Numbers frequently reported as customer services
      • Harassing Calls: Numbers frequently reported as harassments
  5. What is Yellow Page Database?

    Starting from Whoscall version 4.2, yellow page database will be merged with lightning identification database.

  6. Whoscall Card containing the forbidden words will cause failed.

    Whoscall will check the name you edited, if the name contains the forbidden words, it will cause your edit unsuccessfully.

About Call Dialog


  1. What is a “During-call pop-up dialog” and what is an “After-call pop-up dialog”?

    Whoscall offers three pop-up dialogs

    1. During call pop-up dialog: When there is an incoming call, Whoscall automatically provides instant caller information in this dialog.
    2. After call pop-up dialog: When a call is over, Whoscall provides an “after call pop-up dialog” offering options such as block, call back, etc. If you could not answer the call, a missed call notification will appear in the dialog.
    3. SMS dialog: When there is a message, Whoscall automatically provides instant caller information in this dialog.
  2. Why does not Whoscall provide a pop-up dialog?

    Please go to “Settings” and check whether the “During Call pop-up dialog”/ “After call pop-up dialog”/ “SMS pop-up dialog” is activated.

    1. Enter “Settings” and scroll down to “During Call pop-up dialog”/ “After call pop-up dialog”/ “SMS pop-up dialog.
    2. Check if the options are checked properly.
    3. Check if “Show dialog when no information” is not checked, the During Call pop-up dialog will not show up when the no information.
    4. Check if “Pop-up dialog when roaming” is enable wifi only, the pop-up dialog will only be activated on wifi when roaming.

    If you still do not see any information for incoming calls, please report us your problem via the in-app customer service form.

  3. How to adjust the position of during Call pop-up dialog?

    During call pop-up dialog can be moved by dragging.

  4. What can I do when the information on the “During call pop-up dialog” is different from the actual information?

    Our search mechanism will regularly search the internet and update information. It is possible that your information is the most recent and has not been updated to Whoscall. Please provide us with your phone number via the in-app customer service form. Our staff will be happy to assist you.

  5. I am using a Dual Sim Card Phone, can I use Whoscall?

    At the moment, Whoscall is having some difficulties operating on dual sim card phones and thus cannot normally show “Call pop-up dialog” when there are incoming calls. Our engineers are doing their best to solve this problem. We are really sorry for the inconvenience.

About Offline Caller ID


  1. What is "Offine Caller ID" in Whoscall?

    Besides searching unknown numbers online, Whoscall can also identify numbers without Internet connection. With offline database which contains popular fraud, harassment, telemarketing and yellow-page numbers, you are able to identify the numbers regardless of the unstable internet connection.

  2. What is the benefit of using offline caller ID?

    Offline identification : You are able to identify all numbers in the offline database even when internet connection is unstable.

    Stable search speed : Indentifcation speed may be affected by local internet condition. The search speed of numbers in offline database is faster and more stable (the average speed is about 0.8 second).

  3. What is the difference between basic mode and premium mode?

    Basic mode : Contains popular fraud, harrassment, telemarketing numbers in basic offline database. Basic offline database is free for all whoscall user

    Premium mode : Besides spam numbers, premium database includes more yellow-page numbers. You can still identify most of calls even without internet connection. You could get premium database by share whoscal to friends or ad-free subscription

  4. How to get premium offline caller ID?

    You can get it by:
    1. Invite friend to join whoscall (once a friend install and redeem with your referral code, both of you will get 30 days of usage period)
    2. Subscribe ad-free plane to get premium offline database and ad-free in the same time
    * Premium offline database could not be seperately purchased now

  5. Do I need to pay extra expense for offline caller ID?

    Basic database is free to every Whoscall users. You can get premium database by our referral program or by subscribing Ad-free plan.

About Block Function


  1. Why are there still messages in my voicemail box from numbers I blocked?

    If your voicemail is activated, blocked calls will be diverted to it and will be able to leave messages as well. If your voicemail is not activated, your will be busy so that it will be impossible to leave messages. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but this mechanism is controlled by the carrier not Whoscall. we are sorry that at current stage, there's nothing we can do for users who prefer their voice mail box activated ,yet not for the blocked ones at the same time...

  2. Why cannot I receive calls from numbers that I have unblocked?

    In order to specify the problem, please check the following questions and notify us through the in-app customer service form. Our staff will be happy to assist you to solve the problem.

    1. Did you delete the BLOCK RULES (blocklist) set previously?
    2. Please check your other apps might have similar block feature or features within your mobile device.
  3. Why do I still receive “one-ring” calls from blocked numbers?

    Whoscall follows the Android Official API when blocking incoming calls. The “one-ring” situation may persist depending on devices, regardless of the block function provided by Whoscall.

  4. How can I block specific phone numbers (i.e. private numbers, phone numbers starting with or international phone numbers...)?

    If you want to block specific phone numbers (i.e. private phone numbers, phone numbers starting with, or international phone numbers...) please take the following steps:

    1. Tap “Blocked History” on the leftmost tab.
    2. Tap “Go to My Blocklist” on the bottom.
    3. Tap ” + ” at the upper right to add a new blocklist.
    4. Choose the number type you want to block. (i.e. private numbers, phone numbers starting with certain numbers, or international phone numbers)

Account & Personal Information


  1. Can I transfer my old account and its information to a new one?

    We are sorry but an account and information cannot be transferred to or replaced by another one.

  2. How can I verify my new phone number using a previous account?

    If you want to change your phone number on Whoscall, please take the following steps:

    1. Login with your existing account.
    2. Tap ” Profile” on top.
    3. Tap “Change number” and verify your phone number via SMS.

    Note: Versions earlier than 3.8.8.8 do not support this function. Please update Whoscall to its latest version before verifying your phone number.

  3. How to make my name not show on Whoscall??

    Go to setting of Whoscall Card. Turn off "Allow Search" so that others can't search you; turn off "Public Whoscall Card" so that others can't see your name when you call.

Whoscall Card Registration and Basic Features


  1. What is Whoscall Card?

    Whoscall Card is a mobile-based yellow page that is publically searchable. The contents and information listed are editable by the card holder, serving as a way to advertise and reach out to interested people. Whoscall Card also serves as a mobile business card, allowing you to display your information during phone calls and easily state your identity. (Whoscall Card requires an Android device and Whoscall v4.3 or higher)

  2. What's the difference between ShowCard and Whoscall Card?

    Whoscall Card is the next generation of ShowCard, which equiped with advanced features such as post making and impression purchase.

  3. What information do I need to provide to use Whoscall Card?

    To use Whoscall Card, you must be a registered user, verify your phone number, and provide a display name.

  4. Why does it show that I am in violation of the Terms of Service when I attempt to turn on my Whoscall Card?

    This situation occurs when your phone number status is classified as high-risk. Whoscall classifies phone numbers based on information from governmental sources, behavioral analytics, and reports from our user community. Due to security concerns, we do not allow numbers classified as such to use our Whoscall Card service. For additional information, please contact our customer support e-mail.

  5. I have need for different identities, can I apply for more than one Whoscall Card?

    You can apply for up to 3 Whoscall Cards, but each one must be verified using a different phone number.

  6. Can I use Whoscall Card with a landline number?

    You may create card with a landline number on website ▶https://card.whoscall.com/

  7. Why is there the 3 times limitation of updating name and description of my card?

    It is in order to prevent abuse. This is also a reminder that you should keep information of your card as accurate as possible.

  8. Why can't I submit my post?

    To protect all of Whoscall users, you may not use sensitive words in your post.

  9. Why am I able to edit only a few columns of my card?

    To improve user experience, we simplified the process of creating personal cards. If you would like to edit more columns such as opening hours or service area for your card, please change card type from personal o business.

  10. How do I delete my Whoscall Card?

    Switch to your Whoscall Card tab and enter the “Card Settings” page, where you can delete cards tied to each phone number.

Whoscall Card Display


  1. Are my contents viewable to everyone once I apply and fill out my Whsocall Card?

    The other party must have an Andorid device and install the latest version of Whoscall to view your Whoscall Card

  2. Why is there information still being displayed even though I switched off my Whoscall Card?

    Switching off your Whoscall Card will hide information and content provided by yourself, but will not hide information reported by the community or gathered from third-party sources.

  3. Why can others see information regarding my number even when I have not applied for Whoscall Card?

    These information might have been gathered from third-party sources such as the Internet, or provided by reports from the community. You can apply for a Whoscall Card to provide your own information if needed.

  4. What should I do if I find inaccurate/false information when viewing Whoscall Cards of others?

    Since Whoscall Cards are edited by card holders, we cannot verify the accuracy of each piece of information. Please take caution on any information you see, and use the report button found on each number detail page, or the flag function located at the top right of Whoscall Cards accordingly.

  5. Why is there warning text displayed alongside the cards?

    We provide warning text for numbers that have potential security concerns. This is a general warning and not directed towards any specific user or number.

  6. What can I do if I find offensive content on Cards?

    Please use the “flag” function located at the top right of Whoscall Cards. We will process each case accordingly.

  7. Where can other people see my post?

    Users who have installed the latest version of Android Whoscall can see your post at the end of calls or when checking missed call info. Your post will also be displayed at your number detail page.

  8. Why can't I see post?

    You have to install the lasted version of Android Whoscall to make post or to view others'.

Whoscall Card Transfer (Change of device or number)


  1. I am changing my phone, how do I transfer my Card information?

    After installing the latest version of Whoscall on your new device, please login with your original account (Google account, FB) and re-verify your number. Your card information should be retrieved once you complete these steps.

  2. I am changing my phone number, how do I transfer my Card information?

    Please login using your original account (Google account, FB), and go to the number management area in the “Card Settings” page. After finding your number, expand the menu to the right and click on “Change Numbers.” Upon completing verification, your card will be bound to this new number.

  3. I’ve changed both my phone and phone number, how do I delete my past Cards?

    Please login to Whoscall using your original account (Google account, FB), and go to the number management area in the “Card Settings” page. Expand the menu to the right of your number, and click on “Delete Number” to erase information of that card.

Invite friends to install Whoscall (User Referral Program)


  1. How to get the usage period of premium offline database by inviting friends to join Whoscall?

    Invite new user to install Whoscall (Android version). Both your friend and you can get extra 30 days usage period of premium offline database. Steps: 1. Find "Invite friends" in drawer 2. Share Whoscall to friends with your referral code 3. Once your friend redeem your code, both of you will get the reward.
    * You can accumulate up to 360 days of usage period. New invitations will not be counted when you reach the limit.

  2. Why I failed to redeem invite reward?

    Please confirm that:
    1. Your Whoscall account hasn't redeem referral reward
    2. Your device hasn't redeem referral reward

Ad-free Subscription


  1. What is "Ad-free plan" in Whoscall?

    To continously provide great service to users, we've added some ads into the app. However, we also understand that some users want an ad-free experience. Therefore, we've launched our Ad-free plan, where you can subscribe monthly or annually. Beside giving you a totally ad-free experience, you will also have access to more advanced features, such as premium offline database.

  2. If I re-install the app or factory reset my device, do I need to subscribe again?

    Subscription is binded with Whoscall account. You don't have to subscribe again even with other devices.
    Due to system restrictions, the same ad-free account can only be linked with 2 devices. If you need to link to a 3rd device, please contact our customer support email.

  3. I've subscribed to the Ad-free plan, but I cannot find my subscription record in Whoscall.

    Subscription is binded with Whoscall account. You don't have to subscribe again even with other devices. If you meet this problem, please contact us by email (service@gogolook.com).

  4. How to cancel the Ad-free subscription?

    1. Go to Google Play and switch to the account you used to subscribe Whoscall Ad-free plan
    2. Go to "My account"
    3. Find "Whoscall Ad-free Plan" in "Subscriptions" and click "Cancel"

  5. What is premium offline database in ad-free plan?

    Besides searching unknown numbers online, Whoscall can also identify numbers with offline database even when the Internet connection is unstable. There are two modes of offline caller ID. Basic mode is always free for all users. Users who are subscribing ad-free plan can get premiun database which contains 5x more numbers.

  6. I already subscribed ad-free, but I can not activate premium offline database.

Caller ID & Block


  1. What restriction does Whoscall have on iOS system?

    1. Whoscall identify calls by querying offline database that be downloaded in advance rather than online databse.
    2. Cannot show dialog on in-call screen.
    3. Cannot block “No Caller ID” numbers.
  2. How to activate "Caller Identification & Blocking"?

    1. Go to "Settings".
    2. Find "Phone" option.
    3. Find "Call Identification & Blocking" option.
    4. Find "Whoscall" and turn on it.
    5. Remember to come back Whoscall to finish settings.
  3. After I activated "Caller Identification & Blocking" in Settings, it shows an error.

    Please upgrade your iOS system and our app to latest version then try again. If it still unavailable, please refer to following steps:

    1. Delete your Device's "Settings" from the multitasking drawer (double tap the "Home" button, and drag "Setting" upward)​, enter "Settings" and try again.
    2. If steps 1 failed to work, please try to restart your device and try again.
    3. If it keep failing, please try to reinstall Whoscall and try again.
  4. Why "Call Identification & Blocking" will automatically disable often?

    Because iOS system is unstable. We've reported this issue to Apple and waiting for solving.

  5. How to fix the Update Failed error when updating Caller ID database?

    Please contact us and share your error case by screenshot.

  6. I activated the "Caller Identification & Blocking" but some numbers are still unknown even though it has information when I did a reverse lookup?

    Caller ID database are picked by Whoscall, it includes spam and popular incoming numbers (Almost over tens of thousands numbers). Considering iOS performance, we cannot import all Whoscall numbers therefore some numbers will remain unknown. You can add numbers you looked up into your My List for identifying them next time.

  7. Why Whoscall cannnot block "No Caller ID" calls?

    Whoscall cannot block "No Caller ID" calls due to iOS system restriction.

  8. Why can I receive calls from numbers that I had blocked?

    If the numbers you added is spoof number, blocking might fail due to incorrect number format.

Quick Search


  1. How to activate Quick Search?

    1. Open your iOS Notification Center's "Today" page.
    2. Scroll to the end and select "Edit" Button.
    3. Add the Whoscall into list and tap "Done" button.
  2. How to use Quick Search?

    1. Long press the number you want to lookup and copy it.
    2. Open your iOS Notification Center's "Today" page and you will see the number information Whoscall provided.
  3. Why does Quick Search show "Unable to Load"?

    Please restart your iPhone and try Quick Search again. If it still unavailable, please contact us.

My List


  1. What is "My List"?

    Numbers in My List will be identified when it calls next time. My List numbers will not be saved in your personal contacts.

  2. How to delete Whoscall profile?

    Please refer the following stpes:

    1. Find "General" option in the Settings app.

    2. Find "Whoscall" in "Profiles" option and tap the "Delete Profile".

  3. How to deal with the alert of「Input CardDAV Whoscall Password」?

    Please refer previous question to delete Whoscall profile.

  4. How to add numbers into "My List"?

    Please refer the following entrances:

    1. Tap the "+" button after number looking up in widget or number details page.
    2. Tap the "+" button on the top right in My List page.
  5. How to edit the numbers from My List?

    You can use the report function to edit or update a number’s information. Information will be updated in My List after reporting. (Numbers of Top Spammers will not be updated after reporting. The numbers you saved will only be used by you.)

Privacy


  1. How do I delete my report?

    1. Navigate to the number details page of the number you reported before.
    2. Tap the report button on the top right.
    3. Tap the delete button on the top right (Garbage can icon). This button will only show for the numbers you have reported before.
    4. Tap the delete button.
  2. Why is my personal information on Whoscall?

    Whoscall search results include information provided by the user community, our databases, and public data on the Internet. If you would like to remove your number's information, please contact our customer service. Our customer service will guide you through the process.

Ad-free Subscription


  1. What is "Ad-free plan" in Whoscall?

    To continuously provide great service to users, we've added some ads to the app. However, we also understand that some users want an ad-free experience. Therefore, we've launched our Ad-free plan, where you can subscribe monthly or annually.

  2. Why is the subscription unavailable?

    Whoscall cannot receive the subscription item from Apple might due to the unstable network. Please check your network or retry it later.

  3. If I re-install the app or factory reset my device, do I need to subscribe again?

    Subscription is bound to Apple ID account. You don't have to subscribe again even with other devices. Please refer below steps to restore your subscription.

    1. Make sure that you've logged in with Apple ID account you used to subscribed Whoscall Ad-free plan on your device.
    2. Open Whoscall then finds "Ad-free plan" section on the page of the last tab.
    3. Click the (i) icon in the top-right corner.
    4. Click "Restore Purchase" button on Subscription Details page.
  4. How to cancel my Ad-free subscription?

  1. Can Whoscall provide real-time caller identification?

    Minimum requirements for real-time caller identification:

    1. Lumia device
    2. Windows Phone 8.1 running on Cyan or above
    3. Latest version Network +

    Due to system OS limitations, we could not provide this feature to all devices.

  2. How to activate real-time caller identification?

    To activate, please follow below steps:

    1. Go to "Setting" page.
    2. Select "Caller ID" option.
    3. Turn on the caller ID switch button.
    4. System will show a permission request popup dialog, Please tap "Yes".
    5. You will get a successfully activated Whoscall notification.

    * If you never activated this function, your phone will be rebooted after step 4. Once rebooted you will get a successfully activated Whoscall notification.

    Important Reminder:

    1. Please make sure that you have the latest network+ (Check update).
    2. Do not install Whoscall in SD card. Real-time caller-ID cannot be activated if installed in SD card. If you installed Whoscall in your SD card, Please go to “Storage Sense”and move Whoscall from SD card to your local storage.
    3. Real-time caller-ID is only available for specific OS version and device. Please refer to first FAQ question.

  7. Will the Call Guard in Whoscall affect my mobile phone experience?

    No, Whoscall Call Guard will not affect your daily mobile using experience. Call Guard database is put in temporary contact book of Whoscall. Call Guard database will be automatically removed upon Whoscall uninstallation.

  1. How do I delete a tag I created?

    To delete a tag, please follow below steps:

    1. Tap the number that is tagged.
    2. Tap "Edit".
    3. Tap "Delete" on the report screen.
  2. How do I edit my Whoscall card?

    To activate the Whoscall card, you need to verify your phone number. After verification you can edit your information on the Whoscall card and your modification will be applied within 24 hours.

  3. What is Call Guard database? (What are Frequently Blocked Calls, Sales Calls, or Unwelcome Calls..)

    We construct Call Guard database based on community feedback, statistical analysis and calculations. The alert information will appear to users when they receive phone calls or SMS from numbers collected by the Call Guard database.

    If you download the Call Guard database to your device, you will be able to identify these types of calls or SMS even if you do not have any Internet connection.

    Call Guard database includes:

    1. Frequently Blocked Calls: phone numbers frequently reported by users
    2. Sales Calls: phone numbers frequently reported as sales or ads
    3. Unwelcome Calls: phone numbers frequently reported as frauds or scams
    4. Call Center: Phone numbers frequently reported as customer services
    5. Harassing Calls: Phone numbers frequently reported as harassments
    6. One-ring Calls: Phone numbers that call and drop after one ring frequently according to statistical analysis
